		<description>[...] Spurn is a long thin curved spit of land measuring 5.5km long and at points only 20 metres wide. For me its most prominent features are the telegraph poles, like the spine of Spurn it carries electricity down to the point to support the Lifeboat station and Humber Pilots. Each pole has a number, which also has GPS point of reference to help identify points in the land. I like the fact they are ready made markers, subdividing the length of Spurn into units of quantifiable distances. This refers back to mapping in the landscape during the YSP residency, see blog date 05/04/08 [...]</description>
